Healthcare professionals were invited to submit poster abstracts to the 2021 Sex and Gender Health Education (SGHE) Summit to showcase programs within their institution or highlight research on curriculum development, integration, assessment, or curriculum product development in sex and gender specific health. Attendees were invited from all healthcare professions, including but not limited to medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, occupational therapy, physical therapy, population health, and public health.

Sex and Gender Specific Health (SGSH) refers broadly to sex and gender differences in health and may be applied across health professions. These terms are based on the understanding that biology (dictated by sex chromosomes) and social roles (gender) are important in and have implications for prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and in the design and implementation of health research policy, programs, and services in men and women.

We welcomed posters concerning LGBTQ+ health, but our scope was intended to be much broader in encompassing programs that address sex and gender differences in every aspect of health and in all professions, including curricular innovation and assessment, faculty development, educational policy and advocacy, and attitudes and awareness.

Join the open poster viewing session from 5-6 pm EST on November 12, 2021 and the live poster presentations from 6:20-6:35 pm EST.
